Terry Cashman's Talkin' Baseball
Description
Terry Cashman's baseball anthem Talkin' Baseball was honored by the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 23, 2011.
The inspiration for this song was a picture that Mr. Cashman received of Willie Mays, Duke Snider, and Mickey Mantle, Mr. Cashman decided to write a song dedicated to baseball during the 1950s. The popular choral refrain in the song "Talkin' Baseball" — "Willie, Mickey, and The Duke" — instantly struck a chord with fans in 1981 who were disappointed by the MLB strike that summer.
